In our facility in Prague we employ around 550 colleagues from all over the world. We design, produce, test and maintain turboprop aircraft engines.

The Service Specialist/Technician will be responsible for performing routine and complex maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on GE Aviation equipment and systems directly at customer sites. This role ensures optimal operational performance and customer satisfaction through expert technical support and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on GE Aviation products and systems at various customer locations (incl. machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, generator diagnostics).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to guide maintenance activities.
  • Document all maintenance and repair work accurately, including parts used, time spent, and resolutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers, explaining repair procedures and operational best practices.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards during all on-site activities.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused demeanor while representing GE Aviation Czech s.r.o.
  • Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory as required for on-site service.

Job Qualifications:

  • Vocational or technical degree in aviation maintenance, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex machinery, preferably within the aviation or aerospace industry.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a meticulous approach to technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in diverse on-site environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer sites, potentially on short notice.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb, stand, and perform tasks in various environmental conditions.
