Job Purpose
We are looking for a Software Localization Engineer, who will be in charge of all technical aspects of the localization process including investigating localization issues and providing technical support to vendors. If you wonder what localization is, it’s the process of adapting content so it works naturally for people in different languages and cultures. Translation is a big part of the process, but it also involves adjusting formats, images, and other content.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare files needed for localization, hand-offs to vendors and hand-backs from vendors
Create or modify processes and tools necessary for localization process
Investigate localization issues/bugs and propose or make fixes
Communicate with vendors and provide technical support with CAT tools (CAT=Computer Assisted Translation)
Create or modify documentation for new or existing processes and tools
Create or modify processes, tools and scripts needed for building process
Analyze new projects to identify potential engineering related issues
Skills & Experience
General tech-savviness – if you are technically minded and enjoy “playing around” with IT and technology, this might be the job for you
Communicative level of English (at least B2 level)
Knowledge of standard file formats such as HTML, XML
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environments, including working with the Command Line.
Basic programming skills (especially Python or another scripting language) are an advantage
Knowledge of regular expressions is an advantage
Good communicative skills, can-do attitude, team player, willing to learn
Experience or interest in localization is a big plus
