How We Work?
Our hybrid work style (2-3 days in the office) gives us the face-to-face time to have creative conversations, meaningful meetings, make quick decisions and build relationships. And it’s flexible enough to give you the space to do your best work.
About the role
Join us at the crossroads of multi‑brand product excellence, performance marketing, engineering partnership, and design craft leadership. As a Principal UX Designer, Design Systems, you’ll drive the CSMD Design System, a part of Gen’s platform‑agnostic design system — powering modern, accessible, and visually cohesive customer experiences for the Norton, Avast, AVG, LifeLock, CCleaner, Avira, and many more families of products. You’ll pair meticulous systems thinking with hands‑on design chops to raise the bar for quality and innovation across the organization. You’ll foster a positive, collaborative team culture by showing openness, respect, and willingness to support others. We value professionalism, adaptability, and resilience (especially when things get challenging), bringing strong communicationskills and a team-first mindset to everything you do. We work hard and smart, focusing on impact, efficiency, and thoughtful problem-solving – all while making sure to have fun and share a few laughs along the way
About the Team
You’ll be joining the Customer Success Management Design (CSMD) Team, part of the Marketing, Brand, and Communications organization. We’re a fun, diverse, and collaborative group working at the intersection of marketing and product, partnering closely with both to craft seamless, user-focused experiences. Our work spans across email communications and in-product messaging, ensuring users receive the right message, in the right place, at the right time. We’re an impact-driven team that thrives on aligning strategic goals with thoughtful, data-informed design solutions that deliver real value to both users and the business.
Objectives
- Evolve & scale the CSMD Design Systems – Drive the advancement of in-product messaging and Email design systems, while contributing to Gen’s broader design language. Partner closely with Product, Brand, and Engineering to deliver modern, cohesive experiences aligned with Gen's brand identities and their business goals
- Build token architecture – Partner with Product, Brand and Engineering to define, implement, and maintain a robust, multi‑brand token strategy.
- Lead craft & critiques – Facilitate design reviews that elevate design quality; jump in hands‑on to articulate concepts when needed.
- Audit & advance – continuously conduct end‑to‑end UI and visual audits, propose solutions for gaps, and push the system forward while respecting platform guidelines (macOS, iOS, Android, Windows, and Email Clients).
- Empower contributors – Create engagement models, documentation, and tooling that enable teams to give back to the system.
- Stay ahead of the curve – Stay up to date with industry standards, emerging technologies, AI automation tools, and best practices to continuously enhance our systems.
- Champion the system – Advocate for the value of a strong design system with partners and senior leaders across the business and contribute to broader Gen design system and brand initiatives.
- Adopt and leverage AI tools – Champion early adoption of AI technologies to enhance the Design System, team workflows, improve processes, elevate overall efficiency, and continually exploring new tools to evolve how to be an effective enabler for the rest of the team and the company.
