Sub-Regional Financial Controller - Chief Accountant (M/F/D)

Are you ready to take the lead in shaping financial excellence across multiple European markets? We’re looking for an experienced SUB-REGIONAL FINANCIAL CONTROLLER – CHIEF ACCOUNTANT (M/F/D) to join our dynamic Dura-Line European Finance team.

In this pivotal role, you’ll be the financial authority for Czechia and several other countries in our sub-region (Spain, Italy, Austria, Greece), ensuring compliance, driving process improvements, and delivering accurate reporting. As our organization grows, your responsibilities may expand to additional European markets – making this a truly career-defining opportunity.

LOCATION: Czechia, remote working model with occasional travel to our plant in Tlumačov and other regional locations

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Financial Leadership & Compliance

• Oversee statutory accounting and regulatory reporting for the sub-region.
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP, tax regulations, and SOX requirements.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes with precision.

Regulatory & Cross-Border Collaboration

• Lead statutory audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors and authorities.
• Act as the primary contact for local tax authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Partner with external advisors on complex compliance, tax, and transfer pricing matters.
• Align financial operations with European and global standards, working closely with HQ in the U.S.

Process Excellence & Technology

• Collaborate with our Shared Service Center for transactional activities.
• Drive process improvements and implement best practices for reporting and controls.
• Utilize SAP and ERP systems with confidence; leverage automation tools for efficiency.

Team Leadership

• Manage and develop a regional finance team, including treasury and intercompany operations.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
• Expertise in statutory and group audits; strong interaction with auditors.
• Deep knowledge of Czech accounting standards, tax regulations, and SOX/internal controls.
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Fluent in Czech and English (mandatory); additional European languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel for business purposes within the region, including visits to the Tlumačov plant and other European locations, depending on business needs.
